CPP refers Bosompem to Disciplinary Committee

The Central Steering Committee of the Convention People's Party (CPP), has upheld the suspension of the Ashanti Regional Secretary, Mr Akwasi Bosompem. It has consequently referred the matter to the Disciplinary Committee of the party for investigation and final action would be taken consistent with the party's rules and regulations. Mr Bosompem was suspended by the Regional Executives for misconduct and indiscipline, a decision that did not go down well with him. The embattled secretary remained defiant until the matter was reported to the Steering Committee in October this year. Mr Ladi Nylander, National Chairman of the CPP, who was on a two-day working visit to Ashanti Region, announced the endorsement of the action by the regional officers at a meeting with the regional and constituency executives in Kumasi. The visit formed part of the drive to strengthen the structures of the CPP at all levels and to make them more functional in readiness for the election 2012. Mr Nylander told members of the party to do away with tendencies that were inimical to the growth of the party and counterproductive to its bid to capture political power. Mr Samuel Kwabena Danso, the Regional Chairman commended the national leadership for endorsing the action of the regional executives. He urged CPP supporters to ensure a united front and to maintain party discipline.
