The Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Daniel Bugri Naabu, now Abdul-Fatawu Bugri Naabu was Thursday morning involved in an accident on the Damango-Fufulso road.
The accident occurred around 12 a.m when Mr. Naabu was returning from Bole through Damongo in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region after embarking on a campaign in the area and its surrounding communities.
According to reports, all six occupants in his vehicle also sustained some injuries.
Mr. Bugri Naabu and the others who sustained injuries were sent to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) for treatment.
The vehicle in which they were driving is mangled beyond repairs.
Meanwhile, a report filed by JoyNews correspondent, Martina Bugri, indicates that Bugri Naabu is recovering as a result, doctors have abandoned earlier decision to airlift him to Accra for further medical attention.
