Religious leaders asked to help train the youth

The Presiding Member of Agona West Municipal Assembly, Mr Thomas Kwesi Asante, has appealed to religious leaders and parents to give their children training to enable them become useful in future. He said the present situation whereby some young people were involved in anti-social vices, including armed robbery and internet fraud was not in the best interest of the future of the nation. Mr Asante said this at the launch of the Youth Ministry of the Central Regional branch of the Apostles Continuation Church International at Agona Swedru on Saturday. The programme, which was under the theme "Empowering today's Christian Youth to overcome future challenges," was attended by youth ministries of branches of the church from Greater Accra, Ashanti Region and Central regions. Mr Asante said "it is only when the youth are well directed and counselled with the word of God that they can excel in life." Mr Asante urged the youth to concentrate on their books, resist peer pressure and respect the elderly.
