Bright Essilfie Steps Down; Throws Weight Behind Nana B

Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) has received yet another huge boost to his National Youth Organizer bid with Bright Essilfie stepping down from the race to support him.

Mr. Essilfie is one of the six aspirants who picked forms to contest the NPP's National Youth Organizer Position.

This is the second aspirant stepping down to support Nana B after Abdul Ganiyu who had also picked forms bowed out of the race and declared support for Nana B

A survey conducted between December 13, 2017 to January 13, 2018 across the country by Ashpoll Consult, a non-governmental organization whose main activities are centered on governance and politics on the African continent, named Bright Essilfie- Kumi as one of the favorites in the National Youth Organizer contest.

But in an interesting twist of events, Bright Essilfie has today withdrawn from the contest and thrown his support behind Henry Nana Boakye citing superiority of the party's interest to his personal ambitions.

“The primary focus should be teaming up with like minds for the good of the Party. I have always believed in the kind of leadership that will help the Youth of the Party to take advantage of the array of opportunities being created by the government. And I must confess that Henry Nana Boakye is the only one among the lot offering this kind of leadership” he asserted.

Touching on what led to him opting to support Nana B and not any other aspirant; he alluded to having had extensive meetings with all the aspirants and described his decision to join hands with Nana B as a well informed one.

The NPP has closed nominations and will begin vetting of aspirants as it goes to the polls this July to elect National Officers who will lead the party into the 2020 general elections. Six aspirants picked forms to contest the National Youth Organizer Position and two of them have bowed out of the race to support Nana B who has been widely tipped by pundits to succeed Sammy Awuku as the next National Youth Organizer of the NPP.
