A Plus Sneers At Ursula’s Suit Threat

Controversial musician-cum-politician, A Plus (Kwame Asare Obeng) appears set to do court battle with Communications Minister, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, should the latter carry through her threat to sue for defamation.

A Plus is firing his own salvos after the Minister issued a notice for him to withdraw defamatory comments against her, particularly as they accuse her of corruption.

Rather than comply with the demand which was served in a letter by Safo & Marfo@Law, lawyers for Ursula, A Plus has taken to social media to lampoon the threat, saying he is neither afraid of it nor would he be facing threats of a suit for the first time.

In a series of Facebook posts A Plus, who describes himself as “like a wild lion”, says he not afraid of anyone and won’t be cowed.

“And for those saying I've been sued, for your information I've been sued since 1999.... even Richard Annane threatened to sue me. Any idiot can go to court!!!”

The letter by lawyers for the Communications Minister was specific in its demand - withdraw the defamatory accusations and apologise by June 1, or we go to court.

But A Plus says he would rather be damned than comply, and suggests those accused of malfeasance should take the accusations in their strides because they helped him to do worse to former President John Mahama but the latter did not sue him.
