Wonder If Nyantakyi Was "Under The Influence Of Tramol" Or Some Medication . . . - Owusu Bempah

Communications Director for Ghana Gas Company, Ernest Owusu Bempah says the attempt by some leading members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to tag President Akufo-Addo as corrupt per Anas' video on Kwesi Nyantakyi will not wash.

He believes the NDC wants to score cheap political points for the mere fact that Kwesi Nyantakyi is seen in Anas undercover video mentioning the names of President Akufo-Addo and his Vice President Dr Bawumia during a business chat with supposed foreign investors.

If Nyantakyi is indeed a friend of Akufo-Addo and he values and cherishes the friendship, I don’t think he could open his mouth wide to say all the things he said about the President to the stranger. Let’s interrogate this issue on grounds of common sense; which true friend will speak in the manner Nyantakyi spoke about the President if indeed they have a strong friendship between them?” he rhetorically asked during an interview with Kwame Nkrumah "Tikesie" on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show.

He however asserted that Kwesi Nyantakyi took advantage of President Akufo-Addo’s friendly political disposition to make his conjunctures to convince the investors to do business with him [Nyantakyi].

I see it that Kwesi Nyantakyi was just making what we call conjuncture; as to whether he has taken tramol, under the influence of alcohol or maybe he wanted to brag or suffering from inferiority complex to say something to convince the investors to do business with him, i cannot tell,” he asserted.

He reiterated it is “absolutely beyond the bound of human reasoning to stand in front of investors and be talking as if you don’t know what you are saying. It was as if he wanted to impress the investors but what he doesn't know about investors is that, they don’t care about how hard you try to impress them, they will invest if they are ready”.

He added that Kwesi Nyantakyi shot himself in the foot with the way he said he was going to entice Hon. Kennedy Agyapong with money to do his bidding for him; thus, there is no guarantee that Ken Agyapong will accept the offer as he is worth more than the amount mentioned.

Let’s take it emphatically clear that Kwesi Nyantakyi is responsible for his irresponsible statement and the law must deal with him as an individual. Why are some people trying very hard to enrobe the President in Kwesi Nyantakyi’s dubious means he wanted to make money after the President has reported the case to the police for further investigation just to score cheap political point?

He therefore reminded the NDC to listen to the voice of wisdom from the founder of their party, former President Jerry John Rawlings when he vouched that Nana Akufo Addo is not corrupt prior to the 2016 elections.

The founder of the NDC, Jerry John Rawlings has already said he can vouch for Akufo Addo as someone who is not corrupt. Check 2016, prior to the election, what Rawlings said about Akufo Addo when his people in NDC wanted to tag Akufo Addo as corrupt; the heart and soul of NDC came out to defend Akufo Addo”, he recalled.
