“Government Will Complete Bolgatanga-Bawku Road” - Veep

Vice President Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has said that government will ensure work fully resumes on the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmakuum road as the road forms part of the central roads that connect Ghana to her neighbours.

He said government had a major plan to work and improve on the country’s road network and the Bolgatanga-Bawku road was one of the prioritised roads considered for completion.

He noted that plans were far advanced to release funds for the road network improvement project and noted that improving on the road network was a great way to promote the socio-economic lives of the people in the country.

The Vice President gave the assurance when he paid courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Bawku Traditional Area, Naba Asigri Abugragoe Azoka II at his place as part of a day’s working visit to the region and also part of a nationwide tour of the country.

He explained that government was committed to improving on the lives of the citizenry and said as part of the quest to improve on the living conditions of Ghanaians; government had initiated series of interventions including the Nation Builders’ Corp (NABCOB) which would absorb about 300 graduates in each constituency across the country.

He said these initiatives would create viable jobs for the youth and improve on the living standards to reduce the unemployment situation in the country.

Vice President Bawumia urged the youth to be proactive and join the “Planting for Food and Jobs” and the other flagship programmes, since they are partly meant to create jobs for them in the agriculture sector.
