President Welcomes The Newborn King

The President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, spent the morning of Christmas Day in church. He worshiped at the Adenta branch of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) at Frafraha in Accra. The fully packed church, among whom were occasional church-goers, poured out their hearts in praise of God for giving His only begotten son, Jesus Christ through whom God and sinners were reconciled. The praises and worship session over, the Word of God was delivered by the Pastor in Charge, Rev Christopher Yaw Annoh. He assured the congregation that if their ways pleased the Lord, He will cause your enemies to issue decrees which will cause prophecies concerning your life to be fulfilled. For, he said, with God nothing shall be impossible. Unfortunately, said Rev Annoh, like the people of Bethlehem, who made no room for the newborn child, Jesus, the present generation of people in the world was also unprepared for the new birth. As Jesus persistently knocks on our hearts, He is rejected, Rev Annoh also likened the birth of Jesus in a manger to the humble beginnings we have in life. The beginning does not determine our end. We have no control over where we begin but with God we can determine where we end up. Great things do not always start from great places. Once we keep in step with the Holy Spirit, he will surely lead us to the right places and not the places we as humans will expect. As seen in the wise men having followed their instinct, they ended up in Herods palace, which was a wrong place. President Mills, in a short message, asked Ghanaians to use the occasion of Christmas to do much introspection, find out what is wrong with our surroundings and be determined to right those wrongs for a better Ghana.
