I’ll Do Number 12 Again In Grand Style – Anas

Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has revealed that he would utilize every opportunity to reproduce his Number 12 exposé, which troubled some football officials in Ghana, and even do it better than he did before.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on TV3 on Wednesday, Anas revealed that he least expected the reactions his exposé generated.

According to him, he did not think that much number of people cared about football so much let alone the business of running the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

“I didn’t imagine that there will be an impact. The question is who cares? I thought nobody was going to care, I thought that if something affected football, what is the president’s business with football, what does the news people need in football. I thought it was going to be one of those quiet stories,” Anas observed.

He indicated that he chose the football exposé from a collection of stories to only test the waters.

“I told my team, let’s do something preliminary to make way for a bigger one to come, only to realize that this thing was hiding as a big one and never showed its true colors to me.”

Entrapment or not?

On legal arguments about entrapment, Anas noted that he is very conversant with the law, and would do nothing to violate it.

“When I say that you have committed a crime, it means you have done it because I provide you with evidence. I am a lawyer and I take evidence very serious because if I don’t I will end up going into jail myself.”

He further stated that any attempt by former GFA president Kwesi Nantakyi to drag him to the law court would end up fruitless.

According to him, there is no way Kwesi Nyantakyi would even dare to actually go to court to contest him.

“All the court cases he is talking about, he is not going to do it, he knows, he knows very, very well. As far as we go by the strict rules and regulations that are supposed to govern a football guru like him, he will not get it, he will lose it.

“When I was doing Osu children’s home, that was not entrapment, when I was doing the judges, it was not entrapment. Are football people more human than judges?” Anas questioned.

He stated that he is not perturbed about oppositions and is only focused on developing a society.
