Global Evangelical Church ends prayer festival

Right Reverend Emmanuel Kormla Gbordzoe, Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, has called on Ghanaians to bury their differences and champion the cause of unity to ensure national development. He said it was only through unity of purpose and the zeal to serve one's nation that Ghanaians could make a meaningful contribution to national reconstruction. Rt. Rev. Gbordzoe made the call at the end of a four-day Prayer Festival of the Accra Presbytery of the Church at Oyibi near Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region on Tuesday. About 2,000 members of the Church attended the festival, which was under the theme; "Lord Send Us a Revival" It was aimed at strengthening the participants spiritually to enable them to face the challenges ahead. The festival was also to strengthen the cordial relationship already existing between the members. Rt. Rev. Gbordzoe said Ghanaians must see Christmas as a period of hope in spite of all economic, social and political problems. He charged Ghanaians to face the future with hope adding that problems may come, money may be scarce but with Jesus Christ controlling the affairs, their efforts would be crowned with success. Rt. Rev. Gbordzoe advised the youth to be self-disciplined and have faith in their Creator, desist from the 'get-rich-quick' attitude and stick to the word of God in order to succeed in life.
