Maiden Edition Of Miss Golden Stool Launched In Accra

Maiden edition of Miss Golden Stool beauty pageant has been launched in Accra.

Badu Gh and Jay & Jay Company Limited owned by 2011 Ghana’s Most Beautiful winner, Akua Amoakowaa have successfully launched the maiden edition of Miss Golden Stool beauty pageant for the Ashanti Kingdom.

The new beauty pageant which seeks to impact the society and promote the Ghanaian culture and tradition was launched on Friday, June 29 in Accra. Speaking at the grand launch of the event, Sally Akua Amoakowaa, the boss of Jay & Jay Company Limited told the press that “the concept of this beauty pageant was influenced by the fact that the Ashanti Region is known as the beacon of rich culture and tradition but the region does not have a pageant that focuses on highlighting the culture of the Ashanti people”.

The culturally inclined beauty pageant will happen in the Ashanti Region for only its natives, organizers said. According to them, twenty ladies will be selected from the audition slated for Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 25 to compete for the ultimate crown. The two-day adution will happen at the Kosados Arena Hotel in Kumasi. Eight ladies will subsequently be evicted and the remaining 12 beautiful and talented ladies will be camped for two months for the competition.

The grand finale for the maiden edition of Miss Golden Stool is slated for December 15, a day preceding the Akwasidae Festival. The queen and her runner-ups will be presented to Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, the traditional ruler of the Kingdom of Ashanti in Ghana since 26 April 1999 during the Akwasidae Festival.
