Presidential Aide: We Have Not Barred Officials From Having Access To Prez

The Presidential aide in charge of Political Operations, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, has rebuffed rumours that he and some other officials at the presidency are denying access to the president and the Castle. He said the reality is rather to the contrary. Some NDC party foot soldiers have constantly been heard on radio programmes complaining bitterly about being denied access to the presidency after Professor John Mills won the elections a year ago. The Communications Director at the presidency Koku Anyidoho has also been accused of similar issues. However, Mr. Vanderpuije in an interview with Citifm said their accusers have got it all wrong and added that he is surprise at the perception by some party foot soldiers that he (Vanderpuije) and Koku Anyidoho have barred them access to the presidency. He added that neither Koku nor he is the cause of inaccessibility at the Castle. The perception is that Koku and I are the causes of inaccessibility at the Castle, I am surprised because Koku and I are the people who receive most of the party people everyday, he said. You need to come to Kokus office and see the swarm of party people there, come to my office and see the number of people thereas for accessibility come to the Castle and ask of Koku or I and we would receive you he added. Mr Vanderpuije also debunked criticisms by the former president Rawlings and some party loyalists that President Mills led NDC government has allowed certain officials who served under the Kufour administration to continue in office as not fair. He pleaded with all NDC loyalists to understand that we are all Ghanaians with one vision of achieving a better Ghana. He added that the NDC will not perpetuate the injustice that they complained of while in opposition. Mr. Vanderpuije assured all party loyalists that the NDC government will work hard to create jobs and work out incentive packages to address the problems of the party loyalists. people were thinking that we would come to power and because we are NDC people whose head and nose looks like NPP will just be cleared off for Christs sake I will beg my people to understand that we are one people and we have a common destinysome of us complained about this injustice in society, why must we come and perpetuate the same thing, Mr. Vanderpuije said.
