Dogboe-Tagoe Bout Useless — Foh-Amoaning

A Former President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Moses Foh-Amoaning, has poured cold water on attempts to match up WBO super bantamweight World Champion, Isaac Dogboe, against lightweight Champion Emmanuel Tagoe.

He described any suggestion of a bout between the only two world champions in the country as a waste of time and money since, according to him, it would not be beneficial for either of the two parties.

“These are two boxers of different weight categories and why must they fight a bout which is not necessary and beneficial to both?,” he queried during an interview on the sidelines of the referees and judges training course at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra last Monday.

Mr Foh-Amoaning cautioned against the lack of focus from the two camps and stressed that this could work against them in future fights.

The veteran boxing enthusiast challenged Dogboe to unify the belts in his weight, which would be the first feat to be achieved by a Ghanaian.

“Dogboe must focus on unifying the title in his division which is the first thing to be done by a Ghanaian,” he stated.

He also called on Tagoe, popularly referred to as ‘Gameboy’, to focus on annexing another world title and unifying the titles in the lightweight division.

He charged the managers and camps of both boxers to take their charges seriously and transform them into true world champions.
