"Rawlings Is Not A Pain In The Neck": President Mills

The President, Prof John Evans Atta Mills has expressed satisfaction about the achievements of his government within its first year in office. According to the president most of the huge challenges which faced his government within the first year have been addressed thereby paving the way for the economy to take off. President Mills made these remarks today when he interacted with Editors of Media Houses on his 1st year in office at the castle today. He cited the reduction of inflation to the current rate of 16%, increase in capitation grant commencement of the free school uniform programme and decrease in armed robbery in the country as some of the achievements of his government. HEALTH Responding to a question on the one-time premium payment for the NHIS, President Mills hinted that government is streamlining the NHIS before implementation of the proposed one-time premium payment. �The proposed one-time premium payment is feasible but a good foundation is needed to make its implementation effective...some mess have been identified with the NHIS which are being addressed and when that is resolved, it will surely take-off,� he stated.
