Peace And Unity Key In Reclaiming Power – Alhaji Mobila

Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila, newly elected Northern Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stressed the need for peace and unity in the party to reclaim power from the NPP easily.

He claimed that the NPP government was making things easy for the NDC to reclaim power in the 2020 polls due to abysmal performance and unfulfilled promises to Ghanaians during the 2016 electioneering campaign.

Alhaji Mobila told the GNA on Tuesday that, “The NPP should forget about winning elections in the impending 2020 elections since they had no campaign messages. Theytold Ghanaians lies about former President John Mahama and the NDC and won power and they are now paying the price for it”.

He said he had already reached out to the grassroots including the old who abandoned the party midstream contributing to the defeat in 2016 and that there was a glimmer of hope that the NDC would win all Parliamentary seats in the region.

“I have started the process of reaching out to all those who broke away from the party and contested as Independent Parliamentary candidates during the 2016 elections and since we are on God’s side victory will be ours to give Ghanaians good governance”, he said.

Alhaji Mobila claimed that former President John Dramani Mahama was the only winsome candidate to win the 2020 elections in the first round convincingly based on his track record of massive infrastructure development and appealed to those “Who want to market themselves for future elections” to conduct a clean campaign.

“My brother, we are going into the 2020 elections with comparisons and Ghanaians will choose between those who are developing Ghana for the future generation and those who are sacking people from offices and collapsing banks and creates more unemployment”, he said.

He expressed the hope that the NDC would come out of its National Delegates’ Congress more united and called on all party members who deserted the party to come back and be part of the winning team.

He commended all those who contested with him for the chairmanship for coming together as a group to congratulate him and assured that he would work hand in hand with all of them to ensure the needed victory in 2020.
