Allotey Jacobs, former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region, says the party will lose the 2020 general elections if the incumbent General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, remains in office.

According to him, Mr. Asiedu Nketia has proven beyond doubt that he doesn't respect the party's leadership and has developed an arrogant behaviour.

Allotey Jacobs noted that the level of insubordination by the party's General Secretary cannot be ignored, claiming the latter is on a separate agenda to frustrate and ruin the achievements of some members of the party.

“ . . it is a campaign inside the party that they’re using to destroy us but I know him. I know him. I have a lot of things to say about Asiedu Nketia at the right time and he knows that me, Allotey Jacobs will say it as it is. Asiedu Nketia’s time is up, he must go. People don’t know what we have gone through . . . Don’t allow others to destroy what you have built”.

He also described the General Secretary as an "indisciplined" and a "hypocritical person".

Allotey therefore called on the party delegates to vote for Koku Anyidoho who has joined in the race for the Secretary slot of the NDC.

“I will prefer Koku Anyidoho . . . In our current dispensation the NDC doesn’t need a General Secretary who will only go on air to show his prowess in churning out proverbs without mounting a strong defence of the party . . . In our current dispensation; we need Koku Anyidoho (in our current dispensation) . . . Because this is very strategic. If you want to win the 2020 elections, you’ll need Koku Anyidoho. If you want to lose the 2020 elections, then go for Asiedu Nketia,” he stated categorically, adding that "we’re looking at how the party will become vibrant. We’re looking at somebody who can stand up to the NPP”.
