Adomako Baafi Resigns

The acting National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Yaw Adomako Baafi has resigned from his position with immediate effect.
The NPP communicator, told Graphic Online that he preferred to be with the masses doing party work.

“I want to be with the masses. I cannot be sitting in the office and all the time meetings upon meetings and things are going wrong. The party leadership should understand me … It is not anger. The party should bear with me”, he told Graphic Online.

He said the position as communications director restricted him mainly to office activities which denied him the opportunity to embark on trips across the country to sell the good policies of the government to the people.

According to Mr Baafi, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) appeared to be succeeding in discrediting the policies of the government to Ghanaians for which reason he appealed to the leadership of the NPP to replace him as soon as possible to enable him to canvass the country to counter what he described as deception from the opposition party.

Mr. Baafi who is known in the political circles as ‘Lawyer Adomako Baafi’, said the new executives of the party should have made some appointments after their National Delegates Congress in Koforidua but to no avail.

"I am no more interested in being confined to the office," the NPP communicator said the best thing for him to do was to tender in his resignation to compel the new leadership to appoint someone to occupy the position.

By so doing, he said that he could then join his colleagues at the grassroots to strengthen their front.

The new executives of the party, according to inside sources, are expected to have a meeting Friday to appoint a new Director of Communications.
