C.K Akunnor Favourite To Land Vacant Asante Kotoko Job

Former AshantiGold SC coach Charles Akunnor has emerged as the leading contender for the vacant manager's job at Asante Kotoko, according to media reports.

The Porcupine Warriors are searching for a new head coach after Paa Kwesi Fabin resigned when he was captured on a video, discussing a possible move to an unnamed club president in South Africa.

A number of names have been linked with the vacancy at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium outfit and according to a publication on 442.com, the club are likely to move for a manager who is currently out of work.

C.K Akunnor fits the bill as he has been out of work since leaving regional rivals AshantiGold in two months ago after guiding the club the summit of the Ghana Premier League log before it was frozen in the wake of the Anas Number12 expose.

The 44-year-old was appointed the successor to Bashir Hayford midway through last term with the Obuasi-based club one point above the drop zone, but the former Black Stars captain was able to transform their fortunes as they maintained their league status.

Kotoko in recent years have been inconsistent with their technical department, ending their marriages with about 10 coaches in the last 5 years.
