Dr. Jinapor Urges UEW To Rally Behind New Vice Chancellor

Dr. Ahmed Abdulair Jinapor, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Education (UEW) has urged his colleagues to rally behind the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Reverend Father Professor A. Afful-Broni, PhD.

According to him, political polarisation has torn the school apart but "its time to build bridges".

Professor A. Afful-Broni was appointed Vice Chancellor after Professor Mawutor Avoke and four others were recently dismissed based on recommendations by the governing council of the university.

A letter signed by the Minister of Education, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh and addressed to the Secretary of the President Nana Asante Bediatuo notes that the day for the investiture is set to be Monday, September 17, 2018 with President Akufo-Addo being the guest of honour.

Dr Jinapor urged all those who have issues with the governing council to explore dialogue rather than court.

He also called on the Member of Parliament of the area, Hon Afenyo Markin, to lobby government to invest alot more in teaching facilities to absorb the first batch of free SHS graduates.

In another statement, Dr. Samuel Atintonu also congratulated Professor Afful Bronni and pleaded that the new Vice Chancellor should let bygones be bygones and see all of them as his children.

He also advised his colleagues to desist from media attacks on the new Vice Chancellor and the governing Council.
