EDITORIAL: NDC Congress And A Slip Of Tongue

With just a few days to go to congress, the attention of all Ghanaians is turned towards the NDC. The expectations of the opponents of the party are that violence would rear its ugly head at the congress so that the �violence� tag would be peaceful and that the NDC would come out stronger and united. This paper believe that for a peaceful congress, the leaders of the party should be guarded in their utterances, bearing in mind that a slip of the tongue is worst than a slip on a wet pavement. Leading members of the NDC as well as the rank and file of the party must also remember ex-President Kufuor�s statement that it is better to be a messenger in government than to be a proud Secretary-General in opposition. So, whatever they do, it must have only one goal- to keep the NDC in power after 2012.
