THE ASHANTI Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, has threatened to drag a serial caller in Kumasi to court.
He stated that one Duncan Opoku Boateng aka ‘Bombay’, had defamed him in public with blatant lies.
Bombay is a member of the serial callers that normally defend the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on radio in Kumasi.
He claimed that Bombay said he (minister) had used state resources to sponsor his recent trip to the US.
The minister added that Bombay also said “I used state resources to take my wife and kids along to the US”.
Mr Osei Mensah explained that even though his visit to the US was official, it is never true that he used state resources to sponsor it.
“I paid for my trip to the US and it also not true that I took my wife and kids to the US as Bombay claimed”.
He stated that his wife and children were not part of his entourage to the US as Bombay reportedly alleged.
He threatened that Bombay has up to today (Tuesday) to retract and apologise, else he will drag him to court.
Mr Osei Mensah was speaking on Hello Fm in Kumasi.
The minister was part of Otumfuo Osei Tutu’s entourage to the United States. But the serial caller alleged that the minister went to the US with his family.
