Accomodation Shortage Hits Tamale Ahead Of NDC Congress

Hotels in Tamale, the Northern regional capital, have all been booked ahead of the ruling Party�s National Delegates� Congress scheduled for this weekend. Reports say there is a sudden boom in the hospitality industry in the regional capital over the NDC�s forthcoming event at which national executives are to be elected. The National Organiser of the Party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo says about 3000 Delegates and invited guests who are relevant to the Congress are part of an estimated 20,000 crowd expected at the Congress which starts Friday, January 15th and ends on Sunday, 17th January. Accommodation for the Delegates is therefore paramount thus providing a surge for Hoteliers and others in the hospitality industry. A Caretaker of Merisa Hotel, Alhassan Yakubu in Tamale said that there has been some significant increase over the last three days in the activities of the hotel. �There has been some significant increase, over the last three days a lot of people have come in�especially in our hotel, we have a ten room capacity and all the rooms have been taken and that is good business for us�. Alhassan Yakubu said.
