Keep Your Cool And Stop Mocking Aspirants - Allotey Jacobs To Rawlings

Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs has advised former President and founder of the party, Jerry John Rawlings to keep his cool and stop responding to every party issue.

Mr. Rawlings in an tweet on Monday, October 15, 2018 mocked the Presidential hopefuls and Running mates saying some spend "too much time grooming their moustache and dyeing their hair.”

“Isn't the Presidency too busy a place for hopefuls/running mates who spend a little too much time grooming their moustache and dyeing their hair?” he tweeted.

Following Mr. Rawlings' tweet, names of former President John Mahama and Kwesi Ahwoi have cropped up with people associating the tweet to them.

Speaking on 'kokrokoo' on Peace FM, Allotey Jacobs registered his displeasure with Rawlings' comments regarding the party aspirants.

According to him, Rawlings should allow people to pursue their ambitions without mockery as they did for him when he equally contested as a Presidential aspirant in the party years ago.

Allotey Jacobs wants Ex-President Rawlings to note down that "one good turn deserves another” and so if he cannot throw his weight behind certain candidates, he should simply stop lampooning them.

“I don’t like it. Mr. President Rawlings, sometimes there is the need for you to calm down to keep your cool . . . The party are (is) made up of different people from different persuasion. When it reaches a point that it’s someone’s time to climb the ladder, you can’t stop. I know he’s talking about Mr. Kwesi Ahwoi. There are some people in the NDC party that you cannot do away with them and he knows it,” he sasid on Peace FM.
