Health Minister Cuts Sod For The Construction of Bogoso Municipal Hospital

The Ministry of Health has allocated money to complete the Bogoso Municipal Hospital by the year 2020 as part of government's vision aimed at reducing maternal and neonatal deaths and giving citizens quality health delivery.

Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu disclosed this at Bogoso in the Prestea Huni-valley Municipality on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 where he cut sod for the construction of an ultramodern municipal hospital for the people of Bogoso.

The Minister said “building and expanding health facilities to make healthcare delivery more accessible in the country to achieve universal health coverage is the utmost priority of the government”.

The hospital contracted to VAMED Engineering group, an Austrian firm, is scheduled to be completed in eighteen months.

The hospital will be equipped with modern facilities such as out-patient clinic, dental clinic, theatres, delivery rooms, imaging room with x-ray ultra sound among other facilities to ensure that the Bogoso Municipal Hospital is well-resourced.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea Huni-valley, Mozart Kweku Owuh expressed profound gratitude to the government and the Member of parliament Hon. Mrs. Barbara Oteng Gyasi for effectively lobbying for the project.

The Divisional Chief of Bogoso-Kokoase, Nana Akwesi Sompreh II, also commended President Nana Akufo-Addo and his government for the historic municipal hospital and urged the contractors to keep to the job specifications and completion time.

The Health Minister further pledged government’s relentless commitment to continue to support the health sector.
