“Don’t Underrate Your Opponents”- Fred Pappoe To Black Queens

Mr. Fred Pappoe, former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has admonished the senior national women team of Ghana, Black Queens not to be complacent and underrate their opponents as they commenced their campaign in the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON).

Ghana, is set to host seven Africa countries for the biennial tourney from November 17 to December 1, with Accra and Cape Coast as host cities.

The Black Queens would begin their host and win campaign as they take on Algeria in their first Group A match on Saturday, November 17 at the Accra Sports Stadium and Mr. Pappoe has advised the team to be calm and not complacent.

In an interview with the GNA Sports, he said “the team should take a game at a time and shouldn’t be complacent,” adding that though they’ll be under pressure as hosts, they must calm to succeed.

Mr. Pappoe, a Board Member of Accra Great Olympics siad, there was the need to get a psychologist to psyche the team, boost their confidence to be mentally ready for the competition.

“There should be a psychologist to get the team mentally ready because that is also as important as their physic,” he said.

According to him, the technical team was experienced enough to get the best of the playing body to enable them to win the tourney.

He wished the team success and believes that, they will make the nation proud.

Ghana is housed in Group A alongside Cameroon, Algeria and Mali whilst Group B comprises of Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Zambia and South Africa.
