Mason jailed six months for stealing two fowls

The Juaso Circuit Court presided over by Mr Justice S.K. Sarpong Appiah has sentenced a mason to six months imprisonment in hard labour for stealing two fowls. Kwabena Nyarko, 48, pleaded guilty to the charge. Police Detective Sergeant Daniel Ocran told the court that the crime was committed on January 12 at Kwakrukrom near Komeso. The complainant in the case heard an unusual noise coming from his hencoop and decided to find out what was happening. He could not find anyone around but saw some footprints leading to a nearby bush, which he followed later. This led him to a spot, where he saw Nyarko preparing two fowls for a meal. Police Detective Sergeant Ocran said on seeing the complainant the convict took to his heels but he was arrested with the help of the youth in the community and handed over to the police.
