Ghana Football To Return In January 2019

The Normalization Committee of the Ghana Football Association has reached an agreement with the various division clubs in the country to resume football activities next month.

According to sources close to the NC, negotiations between clubs and the committee over the return of a domestic competition was fruitful, hence the return of football.

The stop gap tournament will resume in January and end in June, with the next season expected to be synchronized with the foreign leagues.

All football related activities have been suspended since June after the erstwhile football association executive committee was disbanded due to an expose into football corruption in Ghana.

According information gathered by  after a meeting with the clubs, have agreed to have a stop-gap competition between the first week of January and end in June before rolling out a full calendar for the 2019/2020 league season due to the AFCON.

However, the competition which is yet to be named will have the Premier League Clubs as well as the Division One League Clubs as participants.

A final meeting is expected to be held on Thursday, 6th December, 2018 to finalize related issues with the resumption of football in the country.

The Normalisation Committee will also meet the captains of the premier league teams on Monday as part of their effort to restore the game into normalcy.
