National Fire Service Warns Of Recruitment Scam

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Tuesday cautioned the public against an alleged recruitment being done by the Service saying there was no such activity, “it is a scam”.

It said the recruitment exercise has ended and anyone who engaged anyone to do so for him or her did that at his or her own peril, a statement signed by Divisional Officer I, Mr James O.Y Kwarteng, Deputy Director of Public Relations, and copied the Ghana News Agency, stated.

“It has come to the attention of management GNFS that some unscrupulous characters are posing as agents who have been contracted to recruit personnel into GNFS and some unsuspecting individuals have been paying varied sums of money to these people with the assurance of being recruited into the service,” the statement said.

It said recruitment into the GNFS remains the prerogative of the Service and no individual or institution has been contracted to do so on its behalf.

The statement cautioned those involved in the crime to desist from it immediately, as they would be made to face the law.
