Four Communities Commend President Nana Akufo-Addo

Residents of Techire, Adrobaa and Susuanho, tomato growing communities in the Tano North Municipality of Brong-Ahafo Region at the weekend commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for fulfilling his 2016 campaign promises.

The residents assured the President of their readiness to support the government to achieve his vision for the nation.

They affirmed they would forever be grateful to the President for paving the way for the construction of the Techire-Adrobaa road, which would facilitate the movement of the locals and enhanced their farming activities.

The residents gave the commended on Sunday, when Mrs Freda Prempeh, a Deputy Minister of Works and Housing cut the sod for construction work to commence on the 12.7 kilometre Adrobaa-Techire stretch at Adrobaa.

Alexiboam Company Limited, a Sunyani-based local road construction firm will execute the project, to be completed within 12 months.

Mr Joseph Ansu, a farmer at Adrobaa noted that the previous government failed the people on its promise to construct road, which was very dear to the heart of the people.

He said because of the bad nature of the road, commercial drivers refused to ply it during wet seasons, adding that those who did so also charge exorbitant fares.

As a result, Madam Monica Asimbilla, a tomato farmer said quantities of tomatoes and food items got stuck and got rotten in the communities.

The local residents also expressed appreciation to the government for the proposed construction of the bricks and tiles factory at Tanoso, under the One-District-One-Factory programme, which would create direct and indirect jobs for the people.

Mrs Prempeh, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North Constituency performed another ground breaking ceremony for works to begin on re-shaping of the Adrobaa-Susuanho road and construction of a durbar grounds for the Adrobaa community.

She told the unemployed youth in the area to take advantage of the Planting for Food and Jobs (PfFJs) programme, register and go into commercial farming to improve on their socio-economic livelihood.

Mrs Premepeh said the only way the people could reciprocate what the President had done for them was to ensure that majority of the eligible voters in the area retained the New Patriotic Party (NPP) by voting massively for the Party.

She advised the residents to cooperate with the contractor to enable it work as expected.
