Shegah Clutches Another Award In London

Nollywood, Entertainment And Leadership Awards (NELAS) 2018 celebrated it’s 2nd Edition Awards and Dinner night on the 8th December 2018 at the Prestigeous Best Western Hotel – Woodford London. The event witnessed a sold out tickets of £105 per head for VIP and £50 regular.

It’s was a spectacular night with glamour and elegance where film producers, directors, actors and actresses, radio and television as well as entertainment personalities, and leaders from Nollywood and across the globe were awarded. The awardees for the night included AY of Nigeria and Judith Jacobs of BBC.

Ghana’s Godmother Of dancehall Shegah whose song “Dem Marking Time” entered into the UK reggae and dancehall chart earlier this year claimed an award for the night. Shegah was nominated for three categories including Best Female artist of the year which she lost to Jamaica’s Pepper. Her song Murder ft. Samini and Jupiter which has received massive air play in the UK television stations was also nominated best dancehall collaboration of the year.

Shegah’s “Dem Marking Time” track has venom punchlines which makes other dancehall artists including the men in the game shivers’ in their boots. The song also has a powerful visuals directed by King Luu. Mr. Ricky Brown – The Manager of Magic Records (UK and Europe) received the award on behalf of Shegah, noted the audience Shegah was pleased and humbled to received the award.

The president of NELAS Awards, Her Royal Highness Dr. Nnenna Ani on her closing remarks of the night hinted the next edition for 2019 could take place in Europe, America or possibly Nigeria or South Africa.
