GJA Wishes All Journalists And Media Practitioners A Merry Christmas

The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has wished all journalists and media practitioners in the country a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The GJA is optimistic that God will secure their lives to celebrate these two momentous events.
This was stated in a Press release signed by Mr Affail Monney, the President of the GJA and copied to the Ghana News Agency.

The statement said it may be pertinent to remind journalists and other media practitioners that their mandate as watchdogs of the society did not freeze with the celebration of Christmas and New Year.

The statement said journalists should be inspired by the spirit of the moment to show love and kindness to all people with regard to the poor and needy in society.

“The GJA wishes to use this opportunity to thank all members for their varied contributions to the successful organisation of activities of the Association in the course of 2018,” it said.

The statement said the GJA would also like to thank members for their hard work and commitment to duty in their respective media organisations, to push the country’s development agenda forward.

“While envisaging that the new year will be more challenging for varied reasons, including intense political campaigning and continuous fight for the passage for the Right to Information Bill (RTI), it is our firm conviction that members of the fourth Estate of the Realm will live up to the billing once again and marshal our collective forces to achieve positive results.”

The statement said the New Year presented exciting moments for the GJA, as the Association celebrated its 70th Anniversary despites the anticipated challenges.

“We encourage all members to actively participate in events to commemorates the anniversary, which be rolled out in due course.
