Kwesi Appiah Touts Credentials, Says He's Reached The Apex Of His Career
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has been touting his credentials, claiming he's reached the apex of his career after supervising the Black Stars appearance at the FIFA World Cup four years ago.
The 57-year-old gaffer was in charge when the West African nation endured a chaotic World Cup appearance in Brazil.
The four-time African champions exited the competition in the first round after losing to USA and Portugal but produced a scintillating 2-2 stalemate against eventual winners Germany.
The country's 2014 World Cup campaign was wrecked by bonus row after the government was forced to fly $3 million to players in the South American nation.
And Appiah feels he's reached the pinnacle of his career after guiding the team to Brazil.
“I have reached the highest point in coaching now,” he told Kumasi-based Kessben FM
“If you coach to the World Cup level , that is the pinnacle. The rest are all bonuses.”
