Be resilient and committed to duty-Sadah

Mrs. Veronica Sadah, Deputy Commissioner of the Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) in charge of operations, at the weekend underscored the need for personnel of the service to be resilient, dedicated, honest and meticulous to make the service more trustworthy. Work together and share ideas that would help chart a common course even in turbulent times. Exhibit a high sense of dedication, zeal, vigilance, and enthusiasm in your duties, even in the face challenges. Mrs. Sadah made the call at an end-of-year reception and awards ceremony organised by the Tema Collection of CEPS in honour of workers who excelled in the duties last year. She lauded staff of the Tema Sector for their immense contributions towards national development by way of revenue mobilization last year, and urged them not to be complacent, but to be more committed and dedicated to duty this year. Mrs. Sadah assured workers of the service that management would strive to improve their working conditions, and urged them to reciprocate the gesture by displaying integrity and discipline through high performance. Mr. Wallace Akondor, Tema Sector Commander of CEPS, admitted that as the largest revenue collection point in the country, an onerous responsibility rested on the shoulders of the staff of Tema, to re-double their mobilization efforts to ensure tremendous growth in performance so as to exceed this year's targets. Mr. Akondor urged them to approach their duties with dedication and commitment in order not to let down "Tema", the nation's major tax collection point. Mr. Nestor Percy Galley, Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, called on stakeholders in the ports and maritime industry to work hard as a team in order to help accelerate the development of the nation. Mr. Philip Doe who was adjudged the over-all best Senior Staff, was presented with a double-decker fridge as his award, in addition to a certificate and a citation.
