PHOTOS: NUGs Pays Courtesy Call On St. Aquinas Senior High School, Labone Senior High School & Ghana Free Zones Authority

The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) paid a surprise visit to St. Aquinas Senior High School and Labone Senior High School as part of it's Greater Accra Senior High Schools tour to interact and engage with school authorities and students.

The Visit by NUGS to these selected Senior High Schools is aimed at giving the union a better understanding of grievances and challenges faced by Senior High School students and to find out their views, criticisms and overview of the Free SHS Policy and Double Track System respectively.

The Headmaster of St Aquinas, Mr. Amoasi Baidoo was glad to have the Student leadership in the country in his school to engage with students to understand their concerns and challenges and how they can be solved, he applauded the leadership of NUGS for taking such a task upon themselves to serve students of Ghana.

The NUGS President , Tinkaro Asare Osei encouraged the Students of both St. Aquinas and Labone Senior High School to fight for their welfare and should always call on the union when they face any challenges.

NUGS as well paid visit to the Chief Executive Officer of Free Zones Authority, Mr. Michael Okyere Barfi to interact and engage his outfit in creating opportunity for students and youth in this country.

President Tinkaro also advocated for the support of the Free Zones Authority in engaging Student entrepreneurs at the various tertiary institutions and coordinating a business rapport between the companies under the Free Zones and the need for much cooperation and partnership between NUGS and these companies which will be of mutual interest for the betterment of the welbeing of students in this country.

The CEO of Ghana Free Zones Authority in his response encouraged the leadership of NUGS to focus on leaving a lasting legacy in students and youth development in the country.

He again promised the readiness of his outfit to support the union and students of Ghana in terms of entrepreneurship, advance education and more importantly the renovation of the Union's Secretariat.

The NUGS delegation was led by the President, Tinkaro Asare Osei ,who was joined by the Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) President, Mr. Justice Sarpong, Mr. Pius Nimako, General Secretary of NUGS, Mr. Shadrach Owusu, NUGS Coordinating Secretary, Mr. Kobby Otchere Marfo Mr. Eric Guggisberg, NUGS Financial Controller, Mr. Eric Osei Akoto, NUGS Project and Programs, Mr. Solomon Cudjoe, NUGS Education and Democratization Secretary, Miss Vida Owusu Agyemang , NUGS Womens' Commissioner, Miss Rhoda Adu Gyamera ,GUPS Coordinating Secretary.
