Menzgold ‘Building’ Auction On Hold

Plans to auction a building in Kumasi believed to be owned by Nana Appiah Mensah, aka NAM1, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of beleaguered Menzgold, could not materialize.

The said building is situated at Amakom in Kumasi and decorated with the colours and logo of Menzgold.

One Henry Danso claimed Menzgold owed him GHC24,800 so he prayed the court to auction the building to defray the debt.

Reports in Kumasi suggested that the building was to be auctioned by the KMA Court on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

But another person filed an inter-pleader to stop auction of the building, which served as the office of Menzgold in Kumasi.

Kwabena Badu, who claimed ownership of the property, argued that he rented it to Menzgold.

He, therefore, appealed to the court to halt the auction of the building.

The court halted the plan in order to look into Badu’s case.

It would be recalled that hundreds of angry customers of Menzgold in Kumasi recently demonstrated.

The demonstrators, who have their funds locked up with Menzgold, openly burnt car tyres in the streets amid threats.M
