Beware of Online Dating - MP

Recent cases of kidnapping and murder in the country have generated some form of insecurity in the country.

The recent case is the murder of investigative journalist, Ahmed Suale. Apart from this, there have been cases of missing teenagers in Takoradi, Western Region where kidnappers demand for ransom from parents.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service is yet to get to the root of these crimes.

Various organizations and individuals have called on government to be proactive and put an end to the insecurities in the country.

Speaking to sit-in host of Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Nana Yaw Kesse, the Member of Parliament for Mpraeso in the Eastern Region said in as much as government is putting measures in place to curb these crimes, Ghanaians should also ensure their own safety.

“Ghanaians should be careful of who they befriend on social media especially on facebook or online dating; do a thorough investigation before accepting their friendship. As government put measures in place to ensure our safety, we as a people need to also have some precautions. We should also be careful in giving out our details and addresses...”
