Unemployed In Court For Biting Son’s Ear

A 55-year-old unemployed man who allegedly bit off his son ear, hit his ex-wife with pestle leading to her collapse during family meeting has appeared before a Circuit Court charged with causing harm and domestic violence to wit physical abuse.

Ablorh Gor pleaded not guilty, and the court presided over by Mrs Rita Abrokwah Doko granted him bail in the sum of GHC10,000.00 with three sureties to reappear on February 25.

Prosecuting, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Agnes Boafo told the court that Alice Adjei, the first complainant is the ex-wife of Gor while Daniel Ablor, the second complainant is Gor’s son.

DSP Boafo said Daniel Ablor lives with Gor, his father in the same house at Teshie while Madam Alice resides in a different suburb in the area.

The Prosecution said Daniel and Gor had a misunderstanding over Daniel’s desire to relocate into a room in the house which Gor was not in favour.

Prosecution said on January 18, this year, Madam Alice and Daniel went with some elders to Gor and his new wife to have a meeting.

She said during the meeting Gor slapped Madam Alice and held her neck to the floor, so Daniel went to rescue his mother but Gor bit off his ear and hit Madam Alice with pestle he took from nearby.

She said Madam Alice fell and became unconscious.

DSP Boafo said Daniel managed to rush his mother to the hospital and later to the Nungua Police station to lodge a complaint.

The Domestic Violence and Victim’s support Unit issued two medical report forms to the complainants and Gor was later arrested by the Police.
