Nkwanta Catholic Hospital located in the Nkwanta District of the Volta Region is one of many hospitals hit by the lack of adequate beds and furniture hindering health delivery in the country.

Serving a large number of communities across the district, the hospital lacks adequate beds and chairs for mothers and children on admission at the Children’s Ward of the hospital.

Disturbing as the condition has been over the years, little has however been done to salvage the situation which is vastly hindering rapid provision of quality healthcare.  

Heartened by the deplorable state of the facility, the campaign team for the John Dramani Mahama 2020, headed by James Agyenim Boateng, Elsie Apau Klu and Comrade Ludwig immediately raised funds for the purposes of supporting facility to acquire some needed items, this is to expedite comfort and improve rapid healthcare administration in the hospital. 

The Deputy Spokesperson for the campaign team Mrs. Elsie Apau Klu expressed deep concerns about the state of neglected health facilities across the country particularly within the rural areas.

"This situation is becoming alarming across the country in recent times. Most health facilities are either not operational or have been left in deplorable states, making it difficult for patients to enjoy the full benefits a health facility have to offer," she said. 

Adding that, "attention should be channeled towards rural health facilities’’.

According to her, this must be on the top priority of government and as a country committed towards reducing the maternal mortality rate.
