Liberian Refugee Arrested With Fake Currency

A 35-year-old Liberian refugee from the Budumburam Camp in the Central Region has been arrested by the officers of the Customs, Excise and Preventive Services (CEPS) with 480,000 counterfeit euros in Sokakope in the Volta region. According to the commander at the Aflao collection point, ACP Evans Klutse says the suspect, Reidorf Gick was handed over to the police for further investigations after his arrest on Sunday. However, the suspect, Reidorf Gick alleges that they bag loaded with fake euros was given to him by a Nigerian philanthropist in Benin for delivery at Accra. They were apparently meant to be distributed to some foreign exchange bureaus in Accra. ACP Evans Klutse said most often the money changers duped customers with fake currencies. The person who got this thing would have been gaining somehow�, he stated.
