Insurance Contributes To Low GDP

The Head, Supervision Department and Deputy Commissioner at the National Insurance Commission, Mr. Michael Andoh says insurance has contributed to the country’s low Gross Domestic Product [GDP] over the years.

This, he said has impelled the Commission to put down measures to significantly grow the industry by increasing the variety of options available to the insuring public to satisfy their needs.

“The National Insurance Commission is taking steps to make it easy and convenient for the public to buy insurance, pay their premiums, receive claims and seek redress to their grievances smoothly,” he said during  Bayport Motor Insurance launch in Accra.

Speaking at the launch, Head of Star Assurance, Rev. Mrs Bridgette Opoku-Sarkodie noted that, their partnership with Bayport will be beneficial to their customers.

She advised that “drivers must also understand whatever insurance policies they are buying and always ask questions”
