"He Who Kills By The Sword Dies By The Sword" - Allotey Jacobs Warns NPP

Social commentator, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has sounded a note of caution to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to desist from using violence to win elections.

Allotey Jacobs was commenting on the recent by-elections at the Ayawaso West Wuogon that erupted into chaos.

Some armed security personnel fired gunshots at electorates near the La-Bawaleshie polling station at the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, with eight people sustaining various degrees of gun wounds.

Condemning the incident on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Allotey Jacobs advised the NPP saying "he who kills by the sword dies by the sword".

“Who ordered them to do it? Was it an orchestrated plan to intimidate these people so that nobody comes to vote? Was that the agenda?" he questioned.

He called on the government to compensate the victims of the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.

“Every life we living has its consequences. He who kills by the sword dies by the sword . . . In every form; I will condemn any violence in any by-election. It is not healthy for our democracy. So, we shouldn’t make it an NDC/NPP issue. Let us look at our national security. Let us look at what the Ghana Police Service did during the by-election,” he told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.
