Bring Perpetrators Of By-Election Violence To Book Or We Embark On Another Demo - NDC

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a 7-day ultimatum to President Nana Akufo-Addo and his government to address their concerns regarding the violence that rocked the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

Failure to comply with their directive, the NDC warns, will see them embarking on another massive demonstration.

Former Deputy Minister of Power, John Jinapor, revealed this to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" on Friday, February 8, 2019.

According to him, the Inter-party Coalition for National Sovereignty, comprising the NDC, the CPP, GCPP, DPP, PNC, UFP, EGLE PARTY, APC among others, on Wednesday, February 7, 2019 embarked on the first in the series of demonstrations to register their displeasure with the violence that characterized the by-elections on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

John Jinapor commended the organizers of the demonstration for resisting any oppression from the Police and ensuring a peaceful protest yesterday.

He told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that if the government doesn't heed their calls, the NDC will go on another "demonstration in a week's time".

The NDC Stalwart also took the opportunity to commend the Police for composing themselves saying "it tells you that the Police can be professional".
