Sir John Roots For Bawumia After Akufo-Addo

A former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) who also doubles as Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie is rooting for Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo after his term of office ends.

According to him the NPP as a Dankwah-Dombo-Busia tradition have had the Dankwa and Busia share of the cake, leaving Dombo as the next in line.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, Sir John as he is affectionately called said such a move will help the NPP "erase" the perception as an Akan inclined party.

"After Akufo-Addo, Bawumia will be the next to succeed him," he said.

He therefore condemned the recent behavior put up by the Minority Members of Parliament (MP's) for describing the newly elected member of parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon as  "bloody widow" saying it is 'shameful and unethical'.
