Guns, Knives & Setting Properties Ablaze Doesn't Solve Problems - Sam Pyne Blasts Salaga Youth

Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Pyne, has excoriated the behaviour of some angry youth at Salaga in the Northern Region.

The youth at Salaga in the newly created Savannah Region of Northern Ghana, went on rampage on Tuesday, February 13, 2019, burning down into rubble the offices of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and pulling down billboards with pictures of President Akufo-Addo.

The irate youth took such violent action in protest against the announcement of Damongo as the Regional capital.

Addressing the issue on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Sam Pyne told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that the perpetrators should be exposed and made to face the full rigors of the law.

He cautioned his fellow politicians not to interfere with the arrest of the hostile youth, but to allow the security agencies get to the bottom of the issue.

He wondered if by their action - setting properties ablaze - their problems have been solved or the President has changed the decision.

"....the youth should learn to put up a good behaviour because destroying properties will only cost the nation. The monies that the government would use to develop the Region will have to be channeled to renovate the dilapidated offices and other properties...."

"...guns, knives, fire and fight can’t solve issues,” he advised the youth.
