Chief Of Staff Donates To Cape Coast School For The Deaf And Blind

The Chief of Staff, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare has donated some food items, toiletries and a cash amount of 2000 Ghana Cedis to the Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind. The items included forty bags of rice, five gallons of oil and six buckets of detergents.

Similar donation was also done at Egyam Children’s Home in the Western Region.

Presenting the items to the school, on behalf of Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the Political Affairs Director at the office of the Chief of Staff, Mr. Frank Asiedu Bekoe noted that the gesture is aimed at giving the children in such schools hope, in order that they can grow to be of benefit to the society.

Also present at the event was the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Kwamena Duncan.

Mr. Bekoe added that the chief of staff, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare with her background in development recognizes the need to support the vulnerable in society.

He said the gesture which has already started in some parts of the country is going to be replicated countrywide and as such called on other philanthropist to do same.   

On his part the headmaster of the school, Mr. Setumete Ametewee expressed his gratitude to the chief of staff and said the donation has come at a time the school needs them most.

He added that the items received would go a long way to help the school while urging parents whose children have any form of hearing and sight impairment to enroll them in the school for the needed assistance.
