Political Parties Must Be Responsible For The Lives of Their People - Nana B

National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Boakye aka Nana B has expressed worry over the shooting incident at NDC Ashanti Regional Office on Monday, February 18, 2019.

Contributing to Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme, Nana B asked political figures in the country to desist from making seditious utterances that brew chaos in the country.

Nana B condemned the shooting incident involving some members of NDC vigilante group "Hawks" and a taskforce set up by the party, during an executive meeting at the party office yesterday.

One person has been reported dead and another seriously injured and receiving medical attention.

He asked the NDC not to shield any culprit but allow the Police to do their job saying "as political parties, we need to be responsible for the lives of our people; our followers and those who help us during campaign . . . We should change our attitudes, character and utterances".

To him, killing each other is not the way to go to address one's concerns but rather it should be "sharing of ideas".

The NPP Youth Organizer, speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi, called on the Regional Police command to treat the issue as purely "criminal" and hunt for the perpetrators of the crime.

"This is purely a criminal offence. To take a gun and shoot a person (one or two) leading to the death of the person is not good news. We should all be vigilant,” he said.
