Mahama's Season Is Over, It's My Time Now! - Alban Bagbin

A flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alban Bagbin has expressed optimism that the party delegates will vote massively for him to lead the NDC to victory in the 2020 elections.

Speaking in an interview with host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Mr. Bagbin touted himself as the best candidate for the NDC.

According to him, the season for former President John Dramani Mahama who is one of the competitors eyeing the flagbearer seat has ended and so believed he will defeat Mr. Mahama this Saturday.

Seven aspirants have filed to contest the flagbearership of the NDC.

They include; former President John Dramani Mahama, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin; former Vice Chancellor of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Joshua Alabi; former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Sylvester Mensah; former Trade Minister Ekwow Spio-Garbrah; businessman Nurideen Iddrisu and cadre, Goosie Tanoh.

The NDC Presidential Primaries will come off across the 275 constituencies on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

“There is a time for everything. There’s a season for everything. His season is over. It’s my time now . . . So far as my party is concerned, I think that I have what it takes to make a difference."

"God has been able to give the courage and the fortitude and a character that I don’t hide. And God has taken me through all this. And so with all what I’ve learned not only in school but also in politics, not only as a legal practitioner but also as a political leader in leadership position for 18 years. Count, which of them has gone through that? None!” he said.
