2019 SoNA: Laws On Sanitation To Be Enforced . . . Offenders To Be Punished

Government has reiterated its commitment to join hands together with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) in ensuring that Accra becomes one of the cleanest cities in the world.

President Akufo-Addo made this known while presenting the 2019 State of the Nation Address (SoNA) in Parliament, Thursday.

According to him, the cost of cleaning after those who litter has become too much; hence laws will be enforced to punish those who litter as well as those who steal dustbins.

Last year, I reiterated my pledge of improving sanitation . . . by the end of my term, there has been a significant improvement in sanitation even though I acknowledge more can be done. We will intensify our efforts of making Accra a clean city,” he added.
