Let's All Be Guided By The Second Stanza of Our National Anthem – Prez Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in delivering his 3rd State of the Nation Address [SONA] on the floor of parliament on Thursday, 21st February, 2019 has verified that the struggles of our fore-fathers will never be left to go down the drain under his watch.

He further recalled that the efforts of our forefathers which have brought us this far will never be left to blemish as far as he remains the leader of the land.

“ . . Our forbearers paid too high a price, with their blood and toil, to bequeath to us this beautiful nation; the lives of our citizens are too precious to waste,” he told Parliament.

President Akufo-Addo urged citizens to keep the second stanza of our national anthem as our emotional motto in order to keep the fight of our forefathers forever glowing.

“So, let us come together shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand and let us all be guided by the inspirational words of (the second stanza of) our national anthem:

“Hail to thy name, O Ghana,

To thee we make our solemn vow:

Steadfast to build together

A nation strong in Unity;

With our gifts of mind and strength of arm,

Whether night or day, in the midst of storm,

In every need, whatever the call may be,

To serve thee, Ghana, now and for evermore.”

The President again admitted that the country is faced with challenges but in all its challenges it is not worse off.

“Mr. Speaker, we have our challenges, but our nation is in good health . . . May God bless us all, and our homeland Ghana, and make her great and strong,” he said.
