NPP Has No Interest To Cause Confusion In NDC’s Congress - Sammi Awuku

National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku aka Capo has asserted that the ruling party has no interest in inciting chaos in the National Democratic Congress Delegates' congress tomorrow.

According to him NDC should let transparency prevail rather than pointing accusing fingers at others who do not have any interest in whoever is chosen as the Flagbearer of the opposition party.

Speaking on Peace FM News@6pm, he alluded to allegations from the camp of Prof. Joshua Alabi accusing the national executives of tampering with the ballot papers, and also claiming that the idea of providing food to delegates from former President John Dramani Mahama’s camp could compromise the electoral process. 

"They should allow free and fair election so when somebody lose, they cannot blame or hold anyone responsible,” he added

In the area of security of future elections, Sammy Awuku assured that the NPP is ready to work with President Akufo-Addo's suggestion and therefore ready to meet NDC and other political party to disarm vigilantism.

He also pleaded with the NDC executive to be vigilante because of what happened earlier in Kumasi which was a chain of NDC verse NDC.

He therefore wish them all the best as they go to polls tomorrom, pleading with them to comport themselves and allow the police do their work.

On Saturday, almost 280,000 delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are expected to cast their vote to elect a flagbearer to represent the party in the upcoming 2020 Election.

In all, seven aspirants, including, former President John Dramani Mahama, will battle it out for the slot of the flag bearer.

The others include the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin; former Vice Chancellor of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi; former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mr Sylvester Mensah.

The rest are a former Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah; businessman, Alhaji Nurideen Iddrisu, and a cadre, Mr Goosie Tanoh.
